Question to Find the Slope of given Straight line Equation

Here is a Linear Programming problem on Slope and y intercept of a Straight line, Straight line equation is a linear equation in two variables.
Slope is a the ratio of the altitude change to the horizontal distance between any two points on the line.
y-intercept is the y-value of the point where the graph of the function or a relation intercepts the y-axis of the rectangular coordinate system (x = 0)

Topic : Slope and y-intercept of a Straight Line

This the simple and direct question to find slope and y intercept.

Problem : Given straight line is 4x -8y - 32 = 0, find the slope and y-intercept of the straight line.
Solution :
Slope is always denoted by 'm'
and Slope = - Co-efficient of x / Co-efficient of y
So from the given straight line 4x - 8y - 32 = 0
=> - 4/- 8 = 1/2
Slope = 1/2

Now to find y-intercept
put x = 0 in the given straight line linear equation,
So 4x - 8y - 32 = 0
-8y - 32 = 0
=> - y = 32/8
=> y = - 4
=> y-intercept is (0,-4)
